The TF3 digital mixing console takes live sound reinforcement to a new level of refinement with TouchFlow Operation, 24 recallable D-PRE preamplifiers, advanced processing, and much more.
It features ample input capacity and hands-on control in a compact console that can handle a wide range of applications.
The Yamaha TF3 has set the new standard for digital consoles this size!
This console combines all of Yamaha's knowledge and expertise gained from their world class range of touring grade mixers, and packages it into this simple to use, intuitive and brilliant sounding 48 input (40 mono + 2 stereo + 2 return) desk. With 25 motorised faders (24 input channels and 1 master output), this console is suitable for a massive range of applications.
A key feature of the Yamaha TF3 is called "TouchFlow Operation". This was developed for the TF series, and enables users to work with ease and respond to the sound and performers on stage, all whilst enabling you to tap into your creativity and make each show better than the last.
Analogue users making the switch to digital will appreciate the intuitive feel and layout of the TF3, as it makes newcomers to digital consoles look like they've been working on them for years. This console has a simple work flow that gives the operator the speed and confidence needed to take sound to a new, high level of refinement.
Touch screens are part of our everyday life, and the Yamaha TF3 makes use of it's high resolution screen with a smooth workflow based around movements we are now accustomed to. You can pinch, swipe, scroll - everything that has become second nature to us is used on the TF3's screen to make it feel like you've been operating it for years.
Smooth, fast, intuitive and refined - Yamaha's TouchFlow Operation on the TF3 provides you with simple, yet comprehensive control that allows you to mix with incredible efficiency and effectiveness. As a result, you can explore your creative side and mix like never before.
Everything is laid out in a way that puts all the consoles functions directly accessible to the user. The TF3's touchscreen is smooth and fast, and everything you need is right at your fingertips.
The Touch and Turn knob beside the touchscreen controls all parameters, just choose the function from the screen and the knob switches to controlling the selected parameter.
You also get 4 user defined knobs, allowing you to place your most important functions on them and have the parameters at your fingertips at all times, no matter what is on screen.
Yamaha approached the design of the console with the everyday user in mind. You no longer need to be an experienced sound engineer to get the best possible sound!
Using the 1 Knob Operation on the Yamaha TF3, you can control equalisers and apply compression like a pro.
This enables the casual engineer or volunteer to bring their mix to life, applying compressors where needed and adjusting EQ easily and effectively from the one Touch and Turn knob.
Simply select the desired function via the touchscreen, and turn the knob to automatically apply the desired amount to make your vocals stand out in the mix, make the snare drum punchy, add some definition to your kick - the choices are endless.
Not only for the novice, this also makes the professional engineers life much easier!
Setting a correct gain structure is crucial to the mix.
Perhaps the most important aspect of mixing, this can also be a difficult process. Input gain is the first adjustment made on a incoming signal. Get this wrong, and every parameter after this is negatively affected.
Yamaha has taken the worry out of setting gain with their GainFinder feature, and made it quicker and easier for everybody. GainFinder is a visual indication of the input gain, and works similar to an instrument tuner - not enough gain and the meter will show you, just like a tuner shows a note is flat. If the signal is too hot, the meter goes the other way to signal you to adjust it back a little.
The goal is to have the meter in the centre and lit up green, and this is easily accomplished thanks to the visual indications over the 5 increments shown. Setting the correct gain structure like a professional is now as simple as tuning a guitar, thanks to Yamaha's GainFinder.
Of course, using GainFinder is optional - you can also set your gain structure the traditional way using the solo button and the TF3's level meters.
The Yamahs TF3 is the most intuitive and easy to use digital console on the market, thanks to the practical and effective QuickPro presets Yamaha have loaded on the console.
Yamaha have worked with the major microphone manufacturer's like Shure, Sennheiser and Audio Technica, as well as world class audio engineers to create these helpful and effective presets that will help you get your mix perfected faster than ever. Simply select the preset for the microphone you are using and the input gain, EQ, dynamics and much more are automatically recalled.
This takes the worry out of mixing for novice engineers, and saves professional engineers time while giving them an accurate starting point for them to build on.
Let's face it, you just can't get a great mix unless you have great preamps!
Yamaha have loaded the TF3 with their world class, highly acclaimed D-Pre microphone preamps. These provide you with a clean, precise and clear sound that captures the signal source perfectly. These preamps allow you to build an amazing mix, without having to apply huge amounts of EQ to get there.
Built in to the Yamaha TF3 are eight powerful effects processors, providing you the tools needed to polish your mix to perfection. Add some reverb, delay, modulation - even multiband compression!
The TF3's effects are simply amazing.
